For my analog thugs and my digital thugs

Dear Common Sense

Please rap like this again.

Invocation-1997

Envisioning the hereafter, listenin to Steve Wonder
On a Quest for Love like the Proceed drummer
I strike like lightning and don't need thunder
Inhale imagination and breathe wonder
That's your lady, I used to run up in her and G weed from her
It's a cold world and niggaz need summer
At times my going forward seems like retreat
As I rewrite rhyme after rhyme and throw away beats
Growing into my britches, outgrowing the streets
There's a thin line between war and peace, whores and jeeps
Ignore MCs like beeps, scribblin freedom on pages
My third eye is like pink eye, seemin contagious
Redeemin the ancients with ageless rhyme jargon
I feel Mexican, hip hop is my garden
Don't give a fuck where you chartin, certain shit I can't honor
It ain't that you sellin, it's your karma
Rappers I monitor like a chaperone, you large and haven't grown
Poetically perform fly-bys, another rapper gone
The stage becomes a catacomb, I rap like a mummy
Not for the money, I could have sampled Diana Ross a long time ago
My mind of flow is like motor key 20
Youngblood said he had dimes, I prayed that he see twenty
Hollerin at the brothers, either you gon be a thug or a man
Flip drugs and get land, I can see my man Rashad
As he described how the bucks hit him
And said slugs was still stuck in him, when it rained, it fucked wit him
This bucket interrupt wisdom and asked when my album was comin
I said it's here..it's here...it's here

I like finding forever and all...but you are more clever than the good feeling positive stuff that everything you do sounds like now

Broomfield here comes TUCK

Tucker Assigned to Colorado 14ers

(Ron Turenne/NBAE/Getty Images)
(January 5, 2007) -- The Toronto Raptors announced Friday they have assigned rookie forward P.J. Tucker to the Colorado 14ers of the NBA Development League. Tucker will continue to be included on the Raptors’ roster and will remain on the team’s inactive list.

Tucker, 21, was selected by the Raptors in the second round (35th overall) of the 2006 NBA Draft. He had seen action in 16 games this season contributing 24 points and 20 rebounds in 71 minutes. He posted career highs of 12 points and nine rebounds December 19 at Phoenix.

Tucker is the second Raptor to be assigned to the D-League. Pape Sow played in 18 games last season with the Arkansas Rimrockers, averaging 19.7 points, 11.6 rebounds and 33.2 minutes.

Colorado, who is led by head coach Joe Wolf, has been designated as Toronto’s D-League affiliate for the 2006-07 season. In addition to the 14ers, the 12-team NBA D-League includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Anaheim Arsenal (Calif.), Arkansas Rimrockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Bakersfield Jam (Calif.), Dakota Wizards (Bismarck, N.D.), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Idaho Stampede (Boise), Los Angeles D-Fenders, Sioux Falls Skyforce (S.D.) and Tulsa 66ers (Okla.).

I really hope Sam wakes up and plays homie when he comes back. Tight rotations are cool but this kid is pure heart and hustle and if he leaves for another team i'll be bummed.

I see you PJ. Tear it up out there and watch out for white girls...don't want to pull a Kobe.

somehow this gem from the lost season of the chappelle show didn't end up on my radar until 2 days ago but i've made up for lost time by playing it on repeat for the past few days...

i give you....BYAH

FYI dave chappelle wears size 12 and prefers simple colourways to hyped up colourful quickstrikes...his comments when i showed him mork and mindy dunks and steve nash am90's were priceless...

EXCLUSIVE photos of the DQM X GOODFOOT Collab Tee coming this week too..stay tuned

I got a RASH-O

I decided to search gettyimages and see what percentage of the pics of Rasho Nesterovic(the raptors' new center) showed him getting yammed on since dude is a walking poster waiting to happen.

Here's what I found:

Suprisingly only like 20% or less of the photos were of him getting crammed on. What's funny though is that the descriptions of the photos sometimes try and soften the blow and are like...So and so of the so and so's "shoots over" Rasho Nesterovic.

Yeah right...dude gets more balls on his head than a prostitute.

These raps is like video footage

I could probably make like 100+ posts with each of these and make my blog go on forever with updates everyday but that would make too much sense.

ENJOY:

Meeeee-ontage Part 2

all my student cards from grades 9-12. i'd be 17 or 18 in the last one.

both these pics are from the first time i ever went to NYC. i'm about 16-17 and there was a lot of underage drinking and hotel room antics going on. we also got to visit almost every museum and gallery in about 3 days...it was sick and only cost like $400 if I recall

outside of high school in grade 11 or somewhere around there. i wore a lot of blue and blank sweatshirts at the time. that girl's name is becky caulford...we were friends at the time...she was like the only girl in school who wrote graf.

this is a pic taken the night after this dude's cottage party. he's sitting beside me. i think i was probably on mushrooms or just got really really drunk the night before. we are in harvey's(sorry americans you won't get that one) and out of nowhere mad latin girls appeared in the spot. we took a token pic with them because we had a thing for the latin ladies at that time. you can see my enthusiasm in the pic. i was still not legal drinking age but not sure how old i would have been here.

here's a pic of me with one of my early tags. i spent so much money on that north face jacket...i had to special order it since it wasn't available in canada and my aunt paid for it on her credit card. i'm 18 here for sure....

after my last year of high school i went to chile for 2 months to visit with my friend matthew(see last post) who was living there at the time. i grew an afro a few times in my life but at this particular juncture it was at it's peak. i'm probably 20 in this pic.

i can't remember where this pic fits into the timeline at all...but at one point my boy dennis and i went to nyc for like 3 days and met up with this dread named "Trom"...he let us stay at his place for our last night there and we bought half an ounce of weed from franklin ave which at the time was one of the scariest places i had ever been. i imagine the copious amounts of weed that i have smoked in my life has something to do with why i can't remember when this was...

here's another pic from that trip.

The next 5 or so years of my life involved a lot of weed and rap music...both listening to and making/performing. I don't really remember the timeline of any of it but suffice it to say those years of working bullshit jobs and being creative and spending time with my friends is a contributing factor to the man i am today.

I was heavy into camping and being a materialistic hippie at one point there too.

Somewhere in there digital cameras were invented so the quality of my photos improves slightly.

I liked balancing on things after I saw early videos of dudes doing Le Parkour.

I'm totally wearing Brazil dunks in this pic but you can't see it. I swear.

At one point I thought that wearing a t shirt on my head with a trucker hat over it was a good look.

Then kicks took over.

When I was 25, I finally moved out of my mom's crib and the next 2 years are basically what I call the "Crunk" years of my life. We took it to the top in every way possible and it's definitely a contributing factor to my current state of sobriety.

The longest my beard has ever been.

Then I had a string of really bad luck and got my face smashed in by 3 little wannabe thugs and had to get surgery on my eye. Shortly there after I decided to move away from Toronto and live in Montreal running Goodfoot.

I'll make a part 3 later...
