folks get down

ok so a couple months ago wifey and I went to see Roy Ayers at the Cabaret Music Hall
show was off the wallet chain..very small crowd because it was promoted poorly and so it felt very intimate

roy was very engaging and displayed true showmanship...he had the crowd captivated the entire time

his band was tight too...even the weird r kelly/samuel l jackson dude who was doing backup vocals or playing the tambourine or some shit

anyways the point of this post is that at intermission(hip hop shows need these) roy and the posse were selling cd's...we copped one called Sunshine Man which is new arrangements of classic Roy Ayers songs...only because the Roy Ayers/Rick James collab cd was sold out already(which was a lie because at the end of the night one of the band members was like there's one left..we'll sell it for $40..WTF?)

so i just popped in this cd for the first time without any real expectations...and it's like the kenny g/warren g remixes of Roy's shit....so bad and electronic sounding....i know this fool had reissues...why not just bring those?

but the show was great so i forgive him in a sense...and in his defense the vibes still sound good it's just the rest of the music on this album that's so corny
